LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - John Turturro is set to star opposite Johnny Depp in Columbia Pictures' "Secret Window, Secret Garden," a thriller based on a Stephen King novella.
Maria Bello, Timothy Hutton and Ving Rhames are in negotiations to join the cast. David Koepp ("Stir of Echoes") will direct from his adaptation. The project aims to go into production in July.
"Secret" is about a writer (Depp) going through a painful divorce who is stalked by a psychotic stranger (Turturro) claiming that the writer stole his story but changed the ending. Bello plays the writer's ex-wife, with Hutton as her new boyfriend. Rhames would play a private investigator hired by the writer to deal with the stranger.
Turturro is currently in theaters with "Anger Management."
